![]() The fourth strip will be woven under the first folded strip - this is where the hemostat or tweezers help. Don't worry about pulling them tight yet. Starting on one side, fold each strip over going in a clockwise direction. Pulling gently on the strips will help get this tight-close enough. Move the strips so that they are somewhat tightly woven - but without any pulls or puckering. If it helps, this is the step that took me the longest to get right on successive stars. The key here is to make sure that the four strips are going in different directions. While I don't think it matters, I positioned the strips so that the fold was on the inside edge - toward the center. ![]() Some folks suggest a bit less than half so that one strip is longer than the other but I found it didn't make any difference - I still had more than enough length. 3/4" wide x 14" long.įold the strips in half and press lightly. There are now four strips that measure approx. Then turn the edges to the center so that the strip resembles double-fold binding. Press all four strips in half lengthwise - so that it measures 1-1/2" x 14".

![]() The fish mixed grill was rice and ratatouli (have I spelt that right?) with three portions of fish: fresh tuna, fresh mackerel and cod. We had one of each and both were excellent. There were two choices of main course a mixed grill and a fish mixed grill. Served with a good serving of lettuce were prawns, mussels, smoked salmon and seafood mousse, all complimented with a very nice dressing. My husband and I both chose the seafood salad as a starter. Looking at the full menu we were a little disappointed as there was not much choice and nothing jumped out as being just what we wanted, but whilst we were looking at the menu the waiter brought over the blackboard with the menu of the day at 19 euros which looked perfect. so we sat outside in a very inviting area with plenty of shade provided. It was a sunny day and the terrace was open. My birthday fell on a Monday this year and most of the restaurants in the area are closed on a Monday so we were pleased to be able to get a reservation at The Beaulieu. We will be back soon and thank the staff for their attention, including the lady at reception. The duo of lamb was three lamb cutlets and a small portion of sweetbreads and was served with roasted peppers and vegetables.Īll the starters and main courses were copious but we had of course saved room for desert (its the law isn't it!)Īn enjoyable meal with a varied and tasty selection of food delivered by well trained and pleasant servers, and eaten in a covid safe environment. Definitely one to go back for and not a dish seen often in rural France. It was served with bulgar grains which had citrus fruit in it and was really tasty. The tuna tataki was really good with plenty of rare tuna in a sesame and wasabi dressing and had a tang of something elusive and sharp. ![]() The scallops were fresh and complemented particularly by the grapefruit. It was beautifully presented and was a really fresh and clean starter. The ceviche was thinly sliced scallops in sesame oil and citrus juice, served with roasted lettuce, orange and grapefruit, and finely sliced radish. opted for the a la carte and had a very enjoyable meal.īetween us the dishes we had were the ceviche of scallops, the tataki tuna and the duo of lamb. Not wanting the Menu de Jour we (four of us). Having eaten regularly at the Beaulieu, but less frequently of late, we were surprised to see that apart from the Menu de Jour, there were no further menus on option, only the a la carte.

As one of the leading causes of blindness in Canada, glaucoma can quickly lead to irreversible vision loss without prompt intervention and treatment. Glaucoma is a progressive condition that is often referred to as the “silent thief of sight” because it usually develops without symptoms. At Okotoks Eyecare, retinal imaging is incorporated into a comprehensive eye exam to ensure any early signs of eye disease are caught before they have a chance to worsen.Įarly detection of eye disease maximizes your chances of protecting your vision and ocular health. Retinal imaging is done to help detect and diagnose eye problems and monitor their progression or treatment efficacy. It can also show drusen, scar tissue, and any other abnormalities that indicate early signs of disease. The images produced are typically in full colour, which allows your optometrist to quickly identify blood buildup anywhere between the retina and optic nerve. ![]() The procedure typically only takes a minute or two and is generally said to be painless. A fundus camera is a specialized, low-power microscope with an attached camera. Fundus Photographyįundus photography takes high-resolution images of the fundus or the back of the eye. You also don’t need to have your pupils dilated to get such a wide-angle shot of your retina so you can return to normal daily activities following retinal imaging. The technology scans your retina to capture up to a 200-degree view of the back of your eye.Ĭompared to other imaging technologies, which typically only capture 45 degrees, Optomap’s wide angles give your optometrist a great advantage to detect and diagnose early signs of disease. Optomap ultra-widefield imaging is a diagnostic tool that uses low power lasers to create wide-angle images of your eye. Because OCT uses beams of light, no radiation or x-rays are used, making it a generally comfortable and painless test. OCT uses rays of light to measure the retinal thickness and is considered the standard of care for assessing and treating most retinal conditions. This imaging technique takes cross-sectional photos, allowing your optometrist to examine the layers within the retina. Optical coherence tomography is an imaging technology that takes high-resolution images of your retina. ![]() Different Types of Retinal Imaging Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Typically, the earlier signs of eye disease are caught, the better chance you have of protecting your eyesight. Your eye’s internal workings are responsible for your vision, so it’s essential to take care of them and properly monitor your health to prevent disease. The technology used includes specialized cameras and scanners to magnify your retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels inside the eye. ![]() Retinal imaging is a non-invasive diagnostic tool used to take high definition images of the back of your eye. ![]() ![]() Are you Australian? "He’s very much influenced by the blues, but also by jazz, rock, soul music, and any timeless genres of music. "Marcus is the first player I’ve heard since Derek Trucks to play with the maturity of a musician well beyond his age," Haynes says. A longtime champion of King's songwriting and guitar prowess, Haynes produced every track on The Marcus King Band (and contributed his trademark slide guitar on "Virginia"), expertly capturing the group's live sound for a cohesive collection reflecting the band's expansive explorations. No guest plays a bigger role than Warren Haynes, though. Joining the band on the new album are a number of mentors and collaborators, including Derek Trucks (who plays guitar on "Self-Hatred"). The Marcus King Band features Jack Ryan on drums and percussion, Stephen Campbell on bass, Matt Jennings on keys and organ, Dean Mitchell on saxophone, and Justin Johnson on trumpet, trombone and backing vocals. It's all about getting the stress of the day off your chest. And when we perform, we want the audience to leave feeling as tired and as emotionally freed as we do. I want people to know they're not the only ones going through that pain. "I write as a form of therapy, to release my emotions into a musical expression. "The majority of our songs are specific to situations I've lived," King explains. The album captures the energy of the band's blazing live show, as well as the talent of a rising young songwriter reaching well beyond his years. Having spent the past year tirelessly playing ever-larger venues and festivals to a burgeoning fan base, The Marcus King Band was written on the road and recorded during a series of live takes at Carriage House Studios in Stamford, CT. Ever the multi-tasker, King bounces between several instruments, handling electric and acoustic guitar - as well as pedal and lap steel - while driving each track home with his soulful, incendiary voice. His band gets in on the action too, stacking the songs with blasts of swampy brass, a lock-step rhythm section and swirling organ. ![]() Going beyond the sonic textures of his acclaimed 2015 debut album, Soul Insight The Marcus King Band broadens his sound, touching upon everything from funky R&B to Southern soul and Americana in the process. Raised in Greenville, South Carolina, King was brought up on the blues, playing shows as a pre-teen sideman with his father-bluesman Marvin King, who himself was the son of a regionally-known guitarist-before striking out on his own. Operating within the fiery brand of American roots music that King calls "soul-influenced psychedelic southern rock," the album highlights King’s gorgeous, rough-hewn vocals, soaring guitar work and heartfelt songwriting all amidst a group of masterful musicians who, together, are quickly becoming one of the country’s most sought after live acts. At only 20 years of age, Marcus King’s dazzling musical ability is evident throughout The Marcus King Band, the young phenom’s 2nd full-length LP and first for Fantasy Records. ![]() Personalized Christmas Baking Set ( click for the how-to from Hey Let’s Make Stuff) – A clever (and useful) gift idea for the baker in your life!
